There are many things that raise red flags there. Seller does not specify a personal callsign, there’s no handwritten callsign & date on a note in the pictures (as mandated by QRZ for fraud prevention), and nothing specifying that they would only sell to a licensed Amateur. Why they did not list on hamshack.ca is a good question. One might get lucky, but it could also be stolen goods. Buyer beware…
Caveat emptor always. This guy might be shady. I’m not getting those vibes from his listings but it’s certainly possible.
That said, I have bought and sold a fair bit of gear on FB Marketplace and a bit on Craigslist, and I have never mentioned my call sign, put a handwritten note on my photos, or specified that I would only sell to a licensed Amateur. I would never do that because I am totally willing to sell to non-amateurs. There is no rule that we can only sell to amateurs. Sale of these items is not controlled or restricted in any way.
